Raisch was educated at the University of Arizona, receiving a BS in pharmacy there in 1975, an MS in pharmaceutical sciences in 1986 and a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences in 1988.
Raisch’s areas of specialty are pharmacovigilance, pharmacoeconomics and patient-centered outcomes research. His current research involves assessing outcomes of health care therapies using national and local databases, performing multi-criteria decision analysis and preference studies involved with health care, and assessing rare, serious adverse drug reactions in collaboration with the Southern Network on Adverse Reactions project, a National Cancer Institute and University of South Carolina funded research project.
