Borrego received a BS in pharmacy (1989) and an MS in hospital pharmacy administration (1995) from the University of New Mexico. He received a PhD in pharmacoeconomics and social and administrative sciences from the University of Arizona in 1998. He is a senior fellow and serves as the co-director of the Research, Education and Training Core of the New Mexico Center for the Advancement of Research, Engagement, and Science on Health Disparities.
Borrego’s research interests include pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes, health policy, health disparities, health literacy and pharmacy education. He maintains an active research program in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes, health disparities/literacy and pharmacy education.
COP Develops Relations with Mexico Pharmacy
(HSCNewsBeat; July 24, 2005) ─ The dean and faculty from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy were hosted by the director and faculty of the Facultad de Farmacia at the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morales (UAEM) in Cuernavaca, Mexico in late April for an academic and research meeting between the two universities and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen ties between UNM and UAEM.
